GAA cash and tel story

The success of Gaelic Telecom's fundraising scheme for GAA clubs is reflected in the increased payment for 2006.

On a national level, €430,000 has been generated for clubs and county boards during the first six months of the year, and it's anticipated that a €1 million will go to these outlets, plus primary schools, for all of 2006.
This represents a 71 per cent increase on 2005. General Manager of Gaelic Telecom Gerry O'Connell said: "The money going back is growing at a rapid rate, We are delighted to be signing bigger and better cheques each time. This tells us very simply that the initiative is working and the money going back to local clubs is making a big difference. We are totally committed to putting more money back to all GAA clubs and primary schools."

Gaelic Telecom gives 15 per cent of customer's monthly call charges directly back to the county boards, clubs and schools nominated by their customers.
