Kelly's Telecom delight

GAA President Sean Kelly has praised official partner Gaelic Telecom after the communications company revealed it was on target to fund the association to the tune of €500,000. Eircom rivals Gaelic Telecom forged a linkup with the GAA whereby 15% of customers' call charges are rebated to their nominated club.

It is a win-win scenario for the customers, the company and the GAA with the first payment of €100,000 in the process of being paid to clubs around the country.

Gaelic Telecom estimate that clubs could make as much as €9,000 per year from the scheme which should yield €500,000 for clubs in total over the next year.

Kelly said: "We are grateful to all members and supporters for joining this scheme."
